Julio Fong

Assistant Principal

Mr. Julio Fong, is the newest member to the administrative team at North County Elementary. Currently he holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University ; a Masters of Science in Computer Science in Education from Barry University ; and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University .

Mr. Fong has been working in the Miami Dade County Public School System for thirteen years with four years of administrative experience. Prior to joining the administrative team at North County Elementary, Mr. Fong worked as a teacher and technology coordinator at Palm Springs North Elementary for 7 years. He was also part of the faculty and staff which inaugurated Bob Graham Education K-8 Center, where he taught for 2 years. While working as a teacher and technology coordinator, he was actively involved in several committees and was also a clinical supervising teacher. He has served as department chairperson and as EESAC chair as well.

He later became an Assistant Principal at Ernest R Graham Elementary where he worked for two years. At Ernest R Graham, he assisted the principal with the overall school operations, with an emphasis in curriculum, school safety, maintenance, security, transportation, student services, discipline, attendance, technology and property control. While at Ernest R Graham Elementary the school maintained it's “A” status. Mr. Fong was then assigned to work at Lake Stevens Middle school , where he worked for two years. At Lake Stevens Middle School he assisted the principal with overall school operations, with an emphasis on attendance, cafeteria personnel supervision, discipline, Title 1, textbooks, technology, tutorial programs, the athletics program, school activities, fundraisers, school volunteers, media services, electives, social studies, and the student services department. While at Lake Stevens Middle, the school went from a grade of a “C” to a “B”.
